I wanted to do a proof (to me) of concept of Todd Farhner's Tensahedron Stand,
https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/141977-Tensahedron-Stand/

I used four 10' lengths of 2x2" and four hinges,

Made two 10' sided equilateral triangles (used a strop for the bottom side)

worked pretty well,

The hinges are not ideal, a soft connection is better, as the poles do not stay in line. Rope, soft shackles, wire rope and even chain have been used with success.

If you don't need it collapsible, you can rig it with 2x2" tanalised timber, at least 2.4m long (3m gives you plenty of room). Just drill a hole in both ends and link together with loops of rope or webbing.
Or you can use 3m lengths of 20mm or 25mm steel conduit, you can get it from Screwfix for £9 a pop,
